Our project, in collaboration with Spiral, Telefónica, Google Cloud, and CEU San Pablo University, “Biomedical Analysis of Oral Dysbiosis as a Risk Factor in the Development of Systemic Diseases,” has been recognized at the inaugural MAD e-Health Awards.
This innovative large-scale scientific study, the largest to date on oral dysbiosis, will be conducted in our dental clinics with the participation of over 2,200 volunteers over the next three years.
Through bacteriological genetic testing and with the support of new technologies from Telefónica and Google, we will collect information anonymously and voluntarily from our patients. This will allow us to determine the relationship between oral microbiota bacteria and the risk of developing non-communicable chronic diseases.
Certain bacteria in the oral cavity can cause uncontrolled infections and predispose individuals to chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, stroke, Alzheimer’s, colon cancer, and diabetes. Thanks to this collaboration, we will obtain results that will impact our understanding of oral health as an essential part of general health.
Dr. Clara Esteban, Medical Director of DONTE GROUP, highlighted that innovation is one of our main commitments. This award encourages us to continue driving digital technology projects that improve oral health for everyone.
Representing DONTE GROUP at the awards ceremony, held during the #20DemoDay of MAD e-HEALTH, were Dr. María Latorre, Coordinator of Periodontics, and Marcos Simón, Director of Strategy.
