Our CEO, Javier Martín Ocaña, took part once again in the Health Observatory organized by EL ESPAÑOL and Invertia, where he highlighted the importance of including people over 65 in the National Health System’s service portfolio.
During his intervention, he welcomed the government’s decision to allocate 10% of the announced €68 million to this group, while noting that “the amount is clearly insufficient to meet the real needs”. This is confirmed by our report, “Economic Analysis of the Cost of Expanding the Oral Health Portfolio for Adults over 65”, which estimates the required investment between €513 million and €857 million.
At DONTE GROUP, we emphasize the need for a specific plan for older adults that addresses their real needs: home care, mobile units, coordination with primary care and social services, and caregiver training.
We also remind that poor oral health can lead to systemic diseases such as Alzheimer’s, cardiovascular conditions, or digestive disorders, and that investing in oral health prevention reduces healthcare costs.
Javier Martín Ocaña concluded his participation by sharing our growth plans: doubling our network of centers in the coming years and continuing to work toward making oral healthcare more accessible and equitable across Spain.
