DONTE GROUP establishes a Diversity Committee to break barriers and promote equity and inclusion in its corporate culture.

Madrid, April 2, 2024 – Coinciding with European Diversity Month, DONTE GROUP announces the establishment of the Diversity Committee. The raison d’être of this new body is to contribute to the creation of safe environments, projects, and protocols where individuals who are part of the company can contribute their ideas, with the necessary policies in place to ensure that everyone can develop their talent. All of this is done with the support of the organization to continue evolving in terms of equity and diversity.

Working for and by a diverse and inclusive environment; listening, discussing, and creating practices that add value to the company; promoting leaders with inclusive behaviors or programs where ideas can be expressed on diversity and full inclusion; solving problems and helping to increase team loyalty; and improving the work environment and, consequently, productivity. These are the main challenges that this new committee, now part of the leading dental care group in Spain, has set for itself.

Women, LGTBIQ+, and people with disabilities: the three pillars

Each of the three pillars upon which the Committee pivots (Women in DONTE GROUP, LGTBIQ+, and people with disabilities) is represented by six individuals from the organization. With a female footprint present in all the company’s brands (Moonz, Smysecret, Vitaldent, and MAEX), where nearly 90 percent of professionals are women, the Women in DONTE GROUP area seeks to continue promoting networking, leadership, and professional development within the group. “Our main goals are to support the professional opportunities of employees and, in particular, women, as well as to contribute to diversity and meritocracy and continue to promote DONTE GROUP as a company that promotes ‘real’ equality of opportunities between men and women,” explains Paula Castro, Operations Delegate of Vitaldent and member of the Diversity Committee of DONTE GROUP.

Furthermore, as the first company in the dental health sector to join the ecosystem of companies and professionals of the Red Empresarial por la Diversidad e Inclusión LGBTIQ+ (REDI) association, DONTE GROUP works on new projects and initiatives to continue contributing to the social normalization of LGBTIQ+ people and the elimination of sociocultural prejudices that hinder their professional development and full performance.

In our group, we promote a respectful environment, enhancing the visibility and inclusion of talent, regardless of sexual orientation, identity, or gender expression,” says Julia Cubillo, technical architect of the Expansion area of DONTE GROUP and member of the Diversity Committee.

Likewise, all individuals are the driving force behind the company’s plan, which strives to make oral health accessible to the most vulnerable groups and promote a fair and inclusive society. So much so that, in 2023, DONTE GROUP signed a collaboration agreement with PRODIS, a non-profit organization whose mission is to contribute, through ethical commitment, to improving the quality of life of people with intellectual disabilities and their families, supporting and promoting their full inclusion in a fair and supportive society.

“We believe that access to quality oral health care is a fundamental right for all. Initiatives such as the alliance with PRODIS reflect our commitment to social inclusion and the creation of a positive impact on the oral health of those who need it most. We continue to work along these lines from the Diversity Committee to continue contributing to the most vulnerable groups,” adds Dr. María Latorre, Coordinator of the Periodontology Area of DONTE GROUP and member of the Diversity Committee.

  • Women in DONTE GROUP:
    • Paula Castro, graduated in Special Education from the University of Vigo and Graduated in Pedagogy from UNED, is the Operations Delegate of Vitaldent company, where she has been working for 17 years.
    • Begoña Romero de Tejada, graduate in Advertising and Public Relations from the European University, is currently the Local Marketing Manager of Vitaldent company, where she has held various positions of responsibility in the last 12 years.

  • LGTBIQ+:
    • Julia Cubillo, Technical Architect from the European University Miguel de Cervantes, has developed her professional career in different companies in the construction and retail sectors, holding the position of Construction Projects Manager in the Expansion area of DONTE GROUP for the last 5 years.
    • Álvaro Ortiz, Technical Architect from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, has been working as Construction Projects Manager and responsible for the licensing area for 13 years.

  • PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES:
    • María Latorre, graduated in Dentistry from the Rey Juan Carlos University, has several postgraduate courses in implantology, periodontology, and oral surgery. Since 2022, she has been the Coordinator of the Periodontology Area of DONTE GROUP.
    • Angela Picazo, Dental Hygiene Technician from Ilerna FP, began her professional career as a director in different Vitaldent clinics for more than 15 years. Since 2020, she has been the Operations Delegate for the Levante area of Vitaldent.
