- Our mission is to contribute to improving dentistry, society and the planet
Madrid, October 26st of 2022.-
We are pleased to announce that we have obtained “carbon neutral” certification for our brand launch event held on 21 September. After measuring the carbon footprint generated during the event and analysing the results, we are pleased to have met our goal in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. We continue to take steps that bring us closer to our mission: to improve dentistry and contribute to society and the planet.
From the first planning phases of the event, the DONTE GROUP had the objective of impacting the environment as little as possible, and for this, we turned to Creast. As indicated by our CEO, Javier Martín Ocaña:
“The DONTE GROUP brand launch event has been a challenge in terms of sustainability from the beginning. In the company we were clear that we wanted to hold an event that was as sustainable as possible, that was environmentally-friendly and that generated the least possible impact on the planet. In order to do so, we collaborated with Creast, which accompanied us in organising the event by making recommendations regarding materials, accommodation and travel “.
This technology company predicts, reduces and measures the pollution levels of corporate events, it analyses seven main parameters: mobility, waste, energy, fuel, accommodation, catering and materials, following the GHG – CO2eq measurement protocol for greenhouse gases.
According to the report, a total of 1.54 tons of CO2 were emitted during the event. To offset the footprint generated during the event and in collaboration with Save the Amazon Foundation, the DONTE GROUP will plant two trees that will absorb a total of 1.1 tons of CO2 each, over a period of approximately 20 years. This is confirmed by Javier Martín:
“Our event was not only successful in terms of attendance and relevance, but we also fulfilled our values based on good governance, people and the planet. Our next goal is to carry out a regenerative event that will leave the planet better than it was ”.
DONTE GROUP launch event
For the launch event, a set design based on 5 cubes was created, one for each group brand –Moonz, Smysecret, Vitaldent, MAEX and DONTE GROUP-, each recreating one of the dental clinics and providing information about the group, turning the launch into an experiential visit. The day was divided into three parts: an institutional and media meeting in the morning, the visit of influencers to the cubes and an internal event for employees in the afternoon. Holding the three mini-events on the same day and at the same location (Espacio Downtown) and using materials from clinics made it possible to control the environmental impact.
Other fundamental aspects that have contributed to keeping the carbon footprint neutral have been the limited amount of travel, since most of the attendees were based in Madrid, in addition to the fact that the majority of the materials used were either rented or reused. Providing catering with local and seasonal products and, finally, the separation and recycling of the waste generated, were also key. All of these factors, taken together, helped reduce the carbon footprint of our launch event.
Our ESG roadmap: Transparency and Good Governance, Sustainability and Environment and Caring for People.
Currently, DONTE GROUP has designed an ESG roadmap that is mainly based on three pillars: Transparency and Good Governance, Sustainability and Environment and Caring for People. Our action plan building from these pillars focuses on 13 programmes. We will carry out targeted initiatives to “care for the planet”, such as measuring our carbon footprint and implementing a turn-around carbon action plan to comply with the 2030 decarbonisation agenda in relation to our national activities. In addition, we will undertake other initiatives including consolidating our internal programmes on diversity and inclusion as well as continuing to sponsor local programmes with municipal sports associations and children’s sports schools, among others.
We will continue to take steps that bring us closer to our mission: contributing to improving dentistry, society and the planet.
